Many of us have individuals we look up to, admire and, dare I say, idolize, merited by their great influence and inspiration in our lives. Fortunately, I have a few of these fantastic people in my life, and one of them is Shannon Quimby. Not just because she, like me, is a goof, but, also because of her massive talent and resourceful creativity to reuse, recycle, repurpose and “re-” just about anything she can get her hands on. Did I also mention she’s saving the earth and hundreds of Hamiltons along the way?
A perfect illustration of this aptitude for upcycling is her wonderful and warm re-kitchen. From a pile of construction debris including ripped up wood flooring, old and dusty windows, insulation knobs and even found wine bottles, she’s managed to make a chic and elegant kitchen and dining area that would make most high-end designers’s heads spin!

So, goodie-goodie! Let’s take a tour today and I’ll highlight some of the fine, used-again detailing. Oh, and one other thing I love about Q? She rescues animals and gives them the best home ever! Let’s take a look…
