Star craftsman and DiggersList friend Karl Champley, host of DIY Network’s “Wasted Spaces” and “DIY to the Rescue” gives us a fantastic quick-tip to help us start our week without a bang: “When using a smooth faced hammer, if you take a piece of sand paper and rough it up, you will have a lot better grip when you go to nail something in.” Less slippage, less smashed thumbs. That’s some “fair dinkum” advice!
