My name is Laurie Jones, an Indianapolis based interior stylist. My family recently bought a new home and I’m in the process of designing and organizing my office.
As an interior designer I’ve collected quite a large collection of books on design. The first thing I needed to do was find a bookshelf to house them all. I scored a major find when I ran across this campaigner shelf and bookcase.
I simply updated it by painting it a bright blue. Once that was completed, all that needed to be done was to add the books. When deciding how to organize them, I could’ve gone alphabetically by author or by topic like bedrooms, or living rooms. I chose pretty, and by that I mean I organized them by color!
I have plenty of space left over for new books and even added some of my favorite items like my Jonathan Adler pottery and a few photos.
So the next time you’re looking for a fresh look, try switching those books around in your bookcase!!
