The sound of seagulls cawing and the gentle clanging of a slacked line tapping against the mainsail of a sloop, always reminds me of “getting away” and traveling to a far off place with no schedule, no deadlines, no commitments. Australia is one of those places I’d like to go and sits patiently at the top of my “dream destinations” wish-list. So, when I stumbled upon today’s “Blogs We Dig”, The Design Files, I was just giddy with delight at this Aussie-inspired design archive that allowed me to momentarily and figuratively drop anchor and kick off my shoes and peruse.
Three things we DIG:
1. They give us a peek into Australian homes…
of real people and showcase their personal touches, cultural influence and unique design skills.
2. That cool, salt-of-the-earth Australian industrial chic…
is just what we expect when it comes to design down under. We especially love the wabi-sabi worn metal chair.
3. Their take on office spaces are cool and quirky…
with a delicate touch of elegance…and we’ll definitely be installing some lockers in our DiggersList headquarters.
