It’s amazing what color can do to breath life back into something worn out and seemingly useless. Today’s repurposing DIY project does just that and more. Bright color is the “hurray!-factor” and inspiration, as we see how we can take an old, “having-seen-better-days” chair and splash it with vibrancy and vitality through a bit of paint and pretty flowers.
Materials:
- Wood Chair
- Paint brushes
- Paint and/or Varnish Remover
- Sand paper (optional: small hand sander)
- protractor
- Drill
- Jigsaw
- 12” clay flower pot
- Paint
- Flowers
Instructions:
- Remove paint or varnish from old chair, then sand and wipe clean with soft cloth.
- Measure the circumference of your clay pot mid-way to 3/4 up from bottom, then using a protractor, draw your circle on the center of the seat.
- Using a drill and large bit, drill a hole in the center of the seat large enough to insert your jigsaw.
- Using the jigsaw, cut out the pre-measured circle. Sand any rough edges.
- Paint chair and pot in your favorite, vibrant color.
- Plant colorful flowers into pot and place pot into chair planter.
Enjoy!
